Meals & Nutrition
Eating is a social time and important learning happens during meal times as children learn new vocabulary and practice skills such as taking turns and sharing.
Educators will show enthusiasm for healthy foods and children will learn how to make healthy food choices and come to realise the importance of nourishing their bodies. Self help skills are encouraged from the toddler years onwards.
Our Centres are respectful of cultural and medical dietary requirements and special meals are prepared in accordance with needs and designed to have a similar appearance to the menu meal. Whilst we encourage all children to try all food groups, the variety on offer will always mean there is something for your child to enjoy.
Meet Our Cooks
Michelle has been cooking at the Northgate Centre over the past 3 years and has a wealth of experience cooking in commercial kitchens. Amber joined Michelle in our Kitchen in 2024 coming from a background of a family owned café. They have loved adapting their cooking skills to please even the fussiest of eaters.
Shane has been cooking at the Greenwith Centre for the past 21 years. An amazing effort and a credit to his dedication and love of cooking for the children of our Centre, in 2023 Lisa, Shane’s wife, joined him in the kitchen to help with the ever growing amount of children at the centre.
